In this class we will discuss topics such as the importance of providing discharge education for parents, identifying top reasons for maternal and newborn re-admission, immunizations for baby and mom, the importance of Infant safety, what is normal for baby in the first months and how to help new parents deal with postpartum emotions and when to seek help.

Course Objectives

  1. Relate the importance of providing discharge education for parents
  2. Identify some of the top reasons for maternal and newborn readmissions to the hospital
  3. Discuss the importance of immunizations for baby in the first months of live and immunization update for Mom
  4. Discuss the importance of infant safety
  5. Describe what is normal for baby in the first months
  6. Parental needs
