Newborn Congenital Heart Disease
Description
This program was developed for all neonatal or pediatric healthcare providers (physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists) who must identify and care for neonates or infants with congenital heart disease. It is recommended, but not mandatory, that students take the S.T.A.B.L.E. course prior to this course.
Course Objectives
- Describe the physical assessment and differential diagnosis of neonates with suspected congenital heart disease (CHD).
- Recognize the anatomic features, clinical presentation, and initial stabilization of neonates with CHD.
- Review the modifications in the S.T.A.B.L.E. guidelines that are necessary when caring for neonates with CHD.

The Children's Medical Center (OH-042/6/1/11) is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Ohio Nurses Association (OBN-001-91), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
