What Now? Discharge & Beyond
Description
This course is designed to educate nurses with the many questions parents have once discharged from the hospital. Topics will include what is normal for baby in the first months of life, car seat safety, sleep and tummy time, some immunizations, reasons for newborn readmissions, postpartum guidelines, and parent needs.
Course Objectives
- Relate the importance of providing home-going education for parents
- Identify the top five reasons for newborn admissions to the hospital
- Discuss immunizations in baby’s first month of life
- Discuss the importance of car safety
- Describe what is normal for baby in the first months
- Discuss the importance of sleep and tummy time
- Recognize parent needs
